I've been doing some research b/c gas price is relayed to us per barrel. I believe it's around 140 give or take a couple bucks, these days. I searched for this answer on the internet and I haven't found an acceptable one. People seem to think it's around 42 gallons but then half that once refined...wrong, i did the math and before any sort of taxes that comes to over 7 dollars a gallon..we pay in between $3.80 and $5.00 here right now. Ok so then I did the math with the 42 gallon statistic and that makes a little more sense...except the oil companies are making record profits, so that can't be right either. Then I did research on trying to find the exact government figure and guess what...I can't find one!

If anybody can shed some light...(not the speculators, not the know it alls..) I think we can maybe start paying the price we should or a fair price b/c GASP!...i don't think they want us to know how many gallons r really in a barrel of oil.
