I'm putting up a curtain pole, but the other side of the ceiling is hollow, would 'no more nails' hold the pole & curtains?

  1. yeh, but it might just rip the ceiling down!!!

  2. its good stuff, but try using plaster board rawl-plugs instead.

  3. I have just moved and struggled to drill into the wall above, the guy at Homebase said no more nails would work great, middle of the night, an almighty crash and down it came, complete with everything off the window sill. Changed it for a different type, but still fell down, and this was only a plastic rail.

    So I'm not impressed.

  4. i once used this product to attach a coat hook rail to my wall, it seemed very secure when i hung from it a while later, when my kids hung their coats up it fell off the wall ,,,,,,,, make up ur own mind lol

  5. It wold hold the rod fast to the paper front of the drywall.  Unfortunately the Paper front isn't very strong.  your best bet is toggle bolts.  Unless they are very large or very heavy curtains a 1/8" toggle would do which requires about a 1/2 hole.

  6. Its as strong as what you are fixing to - in your case plaster board. The way to increase the bond is to increase the area - fit a batten first that you can then fix your pole to. If it was me I ywould make a mechnical fixing using a toggle bolt or the like or try to find a joist or noggin to get a positive fixing - if you can get to the floor above (or roof space) you can sort out a fixing more easily.

  7. it is not good enough for that or much else for that matter,

OK for dado rails or skirting but you have to nail it in place until the so called no nails has dried even then it is best to leave the nails in place or better still s***w it on...

as for your pole see johnny above...

  8. yes but make sure you put alot

  9. It 's cyanoacrylate "Crazy Glue" is the same thing just use enough. But i'd much rather use epoxy.

  10. no

  11. Use No-More nails on a roll. But the red roll it holds 50Kg.

The liquid or glue type No More Nails hasn't worked for me but the tape has. Its £5.00 for 1.5m and it works so its worth it.
