Just installed a natural gas range and the oven puts off fumes like its not ajusted right?

is there an adjustment that can be made?? it is a natural gas stove.

  1. Ask whomever you got it from if it's been converted for LP. Most ranges can be converted pretty easily from NG to LP and vice versa, manufactures supply instructions and/or kits to adjust and/or change the various burner orifices.


  2. Call the gas company, they will come out and check for leaks

  3. Wait a minute. Is it a brand new range? Could the range be giving off some smells associated witht he oli or other materials used during the manufactire?

    Or is the smell like the oder put into gas?

Put some soapy water on you pipe joints and see if it bubbles, if so you have a leak and you'll need to tighten the joints, make sure you used the yellow pipe tape on the threads or it will leak. Also make sure all of you pilot lights are lit. Before lighting anything fix the leaks and let the area air out for at least ten minutes so you don't blow yourself up. Most of the new ranges have electric starters so you shouldn't need to light them, but I'm not sure what you have. Good luck.
