I want to become an actress. I know I have to work my way up but I'd love some advice. I'm trying to start with a portfolio so any tips on that? I've been in several local plays and I've been in every school production. I'm not quite sure how to get into commercials and such so thats my next goal. I'm confident I can do whatever comes my way, I just don't know how to get there. Help? Advice? Thanks so much in advance

  1. Well, a portfolio is basically a resume, yet it has pictures and stuff in it. So, you would list the plays you were in,basically, in an educated manor. Meaning don'

t just list put them down, make it like you are trying to get a certain job, which you are. So put in photos of yourself. Like if the plays you were in a a photo day then put those photos in it. And make sure to update the pictures of yourself. Still keeping the ones that are older in the portfolio. And, when you are auditioning for something, the directors and such of the play of movie or whatever, are not just looking for talent. Because let me tell you, there is alot of talent out thee. The ya re look for someone to grab whoever is watching. They want someone with a personality So when you audition, stand up straight and don't look nervous. Smile!

  2. Get some headshots. Start a RESUME. Take acting, singing and dancing cleasses to put yourself about the rest with extra "talents". Get an agent who will FIND the auditions FOR YOUU! Beware of scams though and good luck. Look in the phone book for all of this.
