  1. Some of the products like USB cameras. mp3 players etc have native support with the OS CD itself(Which were manufactured and drivers available in the market). for other newer products, u might need to get the updated from the website.

    :)

  2. Apple develops drivers for Apple hardware such as drive controllers, digital audio circuit, USB ports, and Firewire ports. These are installed by default from Apple before the computer leaves the factory. They are also included with the OS X installer DVD whether it came with the computer or you bought a retail OS X DVD and are installed by default if you reinstall OS X.

Drivers for the Intel onboard video for MacBook and Mac Mini as well as video cards packaged with iMac, MacBook Pro and Mac Pro are pre-installed and included in the standard install package on the DVD. Additional video cards you might install in a Mac Pro will usually work with limited options without installing drivers but you should download and install the latest drivers for full performance. Drivers for dozens of popular printers, such as Canon, Epson and HP, are pre-installed and included in the standard install package on the DVD. Even so, it is best to download and install the latest driver for any printer. External Firewire and USB devices, such as drives and two button scroll mice, generally need no drivers. For mice with special features, trackballs, or graphic tablets, install drivers from their included discs or download and install drivers. Most cameras may be used with iPhoto, Image Capture, or iMovie with no drivers or other applications needed. For example, my still camera activates either iPhoto, Image Capture, or Nikon Capture depending on what I choose in Image Capture preferences. My video camera activates iMovie which controls it perfectly, no drivers needed.

In general, one of the great advantages of a hardware-OS joint development is the total lack of a hardware "wizard" that can fail in many ways to properly "install hardware".
