We got a great deal on our house, but that came with stubborn mildew. I have tried everything, even purchased a steam machine, didn't work. Help! It's annoying!

  1. The shower ceiling in my apt was BLACK with mildew.

To my surprise Spin n Span completely removed it so I wasted money with the paint I had already purchased to cover over it.

  2. Bleach/water in a spray bottle.

  3. try for a cheaper way... use vinegar and baking soda... http://cleaningglow.com/bathroom-cleanin...

  4. I use bleach.  It works wonders BUT it doesnt take too much and it is VERY strong!

  5. X-14 will work, if you leave it on for awhile. Clorox bleach pen will also work and Mr Clean Magic Eraser is my personal choice. You don't even have to scrub hard and it's amazing how well it works. Only cost about $3, too.

  6. Have you tried a magic eraser?  I know they worked wonders on my 30-year-old tub's soap scum.

I also like to use The Works tub and shower cleaner.

    Good luck!

  7. I agree, bleach is the best way. There are some sprays that have bleach. You want to let it soak in for an hour, then wipe off.

For tub, toilet and sink, pour bleach into water. Tub & sink water should be hot.

Don't stay in the room with it! When you go back in to clean, make sure to open a window, if you have one. Breathing a lot of bleach can hurt you.
