The tank is NOT full, the vent pipe appears to be working and we added some yeast today, will this help the situation?

  1. Also check to make sure all the sinks are being used so there is water in the trap to keep gas from coming back up the drain pipes from the septic tank.

Also, are you sure the smell is not a propane leak?

  2. Is it the septic or is there something under the trailer? We had to rip out all of the insulation because the smell on rainy days was overwhelming. We got dead cats and their dead prey (in various states of decomposition) out of the plastic layer. We were beyond belief even as we pulled it out. Maybe you've got it easier and something nasty is just underneath, not INSIDE the underneath.

If it is a septic (p**p and sulfur) smell, have it pumped and ask the guy how much time should go by if the system is failing. If you smell c**p within that time frame...you're going to have to dig and replace or if you're renting the land you're landlord should do it or maybe move the trailer (5K?).
