  1. You need to be eating 1500 calories a day +500 for energy. In order for you to lose weight you have to burn more calories then you. WHich would mean you have to burn 500+ calories aday. (1500 is burned just for thinking/breathing/eating).

However weight is not your enemy. I weigh 150 pounds and I fit in size 0 pants. (Im a guy). Im 5'5 too. Lifting weights also burns a huge amount of calories. Swimming/Running will benefit you as well.

  2. um sweetie wal mart is not the only place in the world that sells size 9 jeans. just try the juniors department or stores instead of the kids section. and while your at the gym w/ your momma walk on the treadmill or jog. and yoga is soooo much fun.

  3. You can't take weight off of a specific area, unfortunately, but with diet and exercise the belly weight will come off. The fastest way to lose weight is through cardio. An hour three times a week on an elliptical, bicycle, or treadmill will really shrink that tummy and those thighs. You'll see your face, arms, and back slim out too.

Resistance or weight training isn't really necessary, but you might want to give it a try anyway. You can do light weights with lots of repetition, you can do crunches, squats, and push ups too. This will build (not bulky) lean strong and toned muscles, which will make you look firm. Also, the more muscle you have the faster your metabolism becomes.

Eat healthy but don't go on a fad or crash diet. Don't starve yourself either. These methods always fail, and you tend to end up heavier than when you started!! So just eat healthy. Cut back on sugar and starches, and cut back on fatty foods, fried foods, and fast foods. If you can completely cut these things out you'll see results even faster.

Patience is key!! Don't lose hope and give up! You can only safely lose about 1-2 pounds per week. Don't expect to lose more than that. It wouldn't be good for your body. And remember that one pound of fat is 3500 calories. It takes a lot of jogging to burn that many calories. So be patient and be persistent.

    Good Luck!!

  4. an  excellent  exercise,  you  can do it in front of your TV: sit on a

stool,  and  put  your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,

for  example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure

that  it  is  not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you

will  damage  your  back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your

body  back, until it's parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and

move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add

to  the  number  of  repetitions.  You will see the results in a week,

guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat - if you have any - six

pack  and  muscles.  Dumbbells  do  wonders.  Much  better  than these crunches  -  I  came  up to three hundreds and there was no results AT ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

  5. Oh so your saying a size 9 is fat now are you?

  6. You cannot reduce in just one place.  But you can get healthier overall, which will help with your stomach problem.

Keeping a food journal really does help.  It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Do more sports and less TV and computer.

Start a weight lifting routine. It will help increase your metabolism and make you feel and look better in so many ways. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Drink plenty of water. You will begin to see changes. Even though we would like it to be different, there is no quick fix. But stick with it. You can be successful.

The moral support you need is what comes from within you. If you are ready to lose the weight you will stick with it and do it. It doesn't matter what your friends or family say or do.

Check out websites about nutrition, weight loss, exercise, weight training, etc.

Stick with it. You can do it.   Here are a couple of  helpful links.
