Just need a little direction for my website?

Question

I'm interested in creating user name and login for my ecommerce site. I would like to be able to store past purchase information in a decrypted secured way. I would also like to incorporate monthly mass mailings to my members. Is there a better script or software that I can use?

What would be the best suggestion for creating something like this.

We used osCommerce where I work, and it's a pain in the butt to use. Try http://www.magentocommerce. It looks very powerful in terms of functions and it's open source as well.
