Im 16 and will be 17 January 9th. But i dont get along with my parents at all. My stepdad wants me to get my GED but my mom wants me to get my diploma. Long story short, im moving out in a few months with about $2000. im getting an apartment and a job, and finishing high school. Should i do anything else or have any suggestions on how to make this easier finacially?

  1. In the long run, you really should get your diploma over a GED.  Though it may not seem like much of a difference, if it comes down to a job candidacy between two people of the same credentials, and one has a diploma and the other a GED, the diploma will win.

Our economy and job market are not concrete right now, so take every extra step you can to better yourself.

As far as making it financially easier, I do not believe being under 18 you will qualify for government assistance, but I could be completely wrong about that.

    Work Hard.

    Save Money

    Cut expenses anywhere you can.

Never forget to take the time to still be a kid once in a while.

Teenage years and early 20's are probably the hardest and most awkward times to go through.

Keep your chin up and remember, that which does not kill you, can only make you stronger.

    Best of Luck!
