Just one question on the Lord of the Flies? ?

At the end of the story, was the smoke that the boat saw caused by the fire Jack and his tribe set on the island when hunting Ralph?

I had to read that book over summer vacation! HATED IT!!! I believe that is what the boat saw...unless Ralph's original fire was still burning. The boat deffinatley saw smoke from someones fire...either ralph's or Jack and his tribe
