Just ordering water on the first date?

No way... Order a drink. Makes a person look unconfident if they order water. Like they think they arnt worth a real drink.  Its like purposely ordering the cheapest thing on the menu. If your out for dinner then go all out.

Try something a bit tasty! If you want to keep it cheap go with water. Depending how old you are you should order a coffee or a shirley temple!! haha! or even hot coco!! But I would get w/e and have fun because ITS YOUR FIRST DATE!..YAY GOOD LUCK;)

Are you the date or the one buying?

If water is what you drink at home with a meal, drink water. I have friends who don't drink anything with their dinner. Other friends who order water to save money.

If you want to try something different, order a non-alcoholic/virgin drink from the bar. Have fun, it's a date! Here are some ideas.

My personal opinion is this:

First dates are for getting to know one another.  Ordering water might seem like your uninteresting or cheap.  Go with a nice glass of sweet tea.  Just be sure to only drink 1-2 glasses because 1) You don't want the person to think your a pig and 2) You don't want to keep running to the bathroom.  And if you don't like sweet tea.....Go ahead and get the water because chance are your uninteresting....J/K

do you mean just water with your food or just water and no food..  the latter would be odd imho.. I often drink water when my fiance and i go out to eat..  i hate getting charged $3 for a soda..
