  1. Lol - The US win baseball so much that in the 4 times it has been held Cuba has won 3 gold, and the US one. So no conspiry theory there - it is just that, as it is only played competively in about 5 countries, so the IOC feel that it should be excluded for a more international sport.

  2. there is baseball this year, but after that they are going to take it out, same with softball.

they feel that not as many countries can compete - that it is open to a select few countries.

  3. There is baseball this year, however it's been removed from the programme (along with softball) for the 2012 Olympics.  The reason is simply that there's not enough countries that play the sport...it's mainly played in the US and Japan.   For a sport to be included in the Olympics it has to be of a nature where many countries compete (such as soccer, track and field, gymnastics, swimming) not just a small minority.

Personally, even though I'm in Australia, I am a little disappointed!  I played baseball competitively at a state level when I was a kid, but nowadays we no longer have a national league (because there was too small a fanbase) and most of our decent players either play in the US or Japan (as it's the only way to make a living from the sport).  Having said that, I totally understand the decision, because it's no much of a competition when you have only 2 or 3 countries actually providing much of a challenge for the medals.

  4. it is baseball in the olympics

  5. i think there is,but the u.s. is the only country who has been winning so much. i'm glad they are taking softball out of the summer games b/c the u.s. team is the only team who has won so much

  6. There is indeed baseball in the Olympics. However, you will not see famous major league players competing for their countries as it would conflict with the regular baseball season.
