  1. The museum was there long before the pyramid--it is part of it, I suppose, but the museum itself is much, much larger.

  2. To make little sneezers ask questions

  3. The Louvre is the biggest museum in Paris.  Originally, is was the Royal Palace until the French Revolution.  The Pyramid thing is the main entrance to the museum.  It was designed by a Chinese American, I.M. Pei...who eventually was honored by the French by giving honorary citizenship.

  4. It is a museum.

  5. Le Louvre is the biggest Art Museum in Europe ( maybe in the world) it use to be the King's palace during his business visits in Paris, the King's place to live is the Versailles Palace, near Paris.

The Pyramid was built some years ago, in the 90's I think, the purpose is to have a piece of modern art too there, and they made it the entrance of the museum.

  6. The pyramid is the main entrance of the museum. It opened in 1988

Before that, most people could not find the entrance which was not obvious at all. There is a large underground hall below the pyramid with shops, restaurants, and hopefully the museum's entrance.

The museum itself is around the pyramid and is at least 100 times larger!

  7. The glass pyramid is in the middle of the inner courtyard of the Louvre. It was built to serve as a main reception area. Besides being a "conversation piece"... Not everyone likes it. Some consider it too modern for where it is located.

  8. The pyramid thing is actually a piece of art that stands outside the museum.  It is also used as a building.  So I guess it is architectural art.
