Just out of curosity, what is the average price for tux rental for a wedding? Thanks!?

My husband is being forced to being in his cousins wedding (in that I mean he doesn't have a choice to back out or suffer his family's wrath type thing) but anyways, we think the tux price is nuts, and his cousin called this morning and said his measurements were due, not telling him the tux also needs to be paid in full and this is the last day to do it, giving us no forewarning we were going to have to sheel out almost $200 at the drop of a hat for a tux he will be wearing for like 3-4 hours. (So that's my little vent about that!!! lol) But, Our guys tuxes for our wedding were $80, and these ones just seem outrageous!! But maybe it isn't?? I was j/w thanks!

Yeah- the designer Tuxes are $200 with all the fringe- like if they picked different cufflinks and added hankies and designer shoes and all that jazz.

We got stuck with that for a friends wedding but I can't say anything because my tuxes were $150 for my wedding because I wanted brown tuxes- and they are hard to find.

$200 sounds like it. I paid that for my brother's wedding because it was a fancy tux.

Is your husband close to his cousin?

Just deduct some from the wedding present if it really a problem for you. Other than that. Who cares?

You're being ripped off. You are paying for a tux at $200. You need to talk the tux shop and see a listed invoice why. I paid 50-80 for weddings and I have been in six.

50-150 tends to be the average, but depending on the quality I guess it would be more. It's not fair that they dropped it on you guys last minute. If the tux is just a basic black, maybe you could find something that looks very similar, but cheaper. Of course, run that by the groom/bride first. I think $200 is outrageous for a tux too. my husband and i werent too picky with our wedding so when it came down to the tux part my hubby asked his men to get together and see which one they all agreed on...they all ended up liking one for 180 bucks! we thought it was too much but thats what they liked so i wouldnt doubt a 200 dollar tux rental. sorry guys...too bad yall cant keep it!

Wow, for $200 seems like you should OWN the tux afterwards!

The tuxes for my wedding were $69 each, name brand tuxes, with shoes, and the groom's was free after 5 rentals.

You're being ripped off, but I really don't think you have much of a choice in this one unless you want everyone to hate you for causing a bunch of drama about it. Sorry.

I got marreid three years ago and I think our tux rentals were about $110.

Depending on time of year and type of tux it ranges from about 50 dollars to 200.  The average tux will cost about 120 dollars

Your being ripped off.  My husbands tux was free because we had a certain number of people in the wedding party, but then our guys tux were only like 80 bucks...I would ask to see the invoice.  Ours were name brand also...

My fiancee has him and his 4 groomsmen renting from Mens Warehouse Tux (MWT) and there it's about $100 per tux and when 4 are rented then the groom gets his free!

My husband paid about 100. dollars for his tux. I think 200. is too much for a rental.

80-100 bucks tops is all it should cost for a tux rental. If you can't afford the tux, you guys just need to tell his cousin and see if they will help out or if they can pay for the tux. If they didn't give you any warning, they should pay for the tux, just my opinion.

I was just in a wedding as a bridesmaid and my husband was a groomsman. He paid 85 for Dior tux. The guys looked FANTASTIC! My son (age 11) was also in a tux and I thought paying $65 for his was over the top. It was a child's size tux and didn't even match the others exactly. The groom's was free because we rented 4.

Maybe it's the store or maybe it's the most upscale tux line they carry, but I think you're being ripped off.

My son was just an usher in a wedding, and we paid $100.00, and that included everything, including the shirt and shoes.  This is in Ohio.  The mall tux shop runs around $120.00.  We rented from a  place called Price Stores in Dayton, Ohio.

How long ago did you get married where your tux's were only $80?  On average a tux today will go for about $140-$200 depending on the style selected.  Most rentals places will offer the groom his tux for free if there are at least 5 other tuxedo rentals from the same wedding.  Also, if your husbands' family would have had such a hissy fit, they should offer to help pay for his tux!
