i heard samsung was one of the better quality TV's but i am unhappy w/ what the pictures look like. i upgraded my comcast cable package to an HD package. Ive noticed that only the HD channels look nice, all the other channels have this screen door effect, the images are somewhat blurry and fuzzy. i am considering returning it for a better one or a 1080 but i really need to know if that will even help?? i expected so much from this tv but if all the non-Hd channels are going to look streched out than i dont know what to do?? any suggestions or comments??

  1. get them to replace your lines.

or it could be that the only thing that looks good on your tv is HD.

Try getting Direct TV, or Dish Network, all of their channels are HD.

  2. Your TV set is ok. The images are blurry due to normal cable connection. You will have to purchase DISH network for getting the images crystal clear as they deliver digital picture quality. Dont worry about the LCD as samsung  has known for its quality. Go for dish and it willl 100% solve your problem

  3. Don't panic girl....

Your experiencing the normal "digital" appearance on a HD tv.  If you go to 1080i it might even be worse.  Go into your menu or use and set the digital default screen to 4:3.  That should help your stretched screen appearances.  I hope you don't like sports, those seem worse than other pictures!  Enjoy!!!

  4. Honey - listen up...

you know those non-HD channels - they were invented in the 1940's.  If your grandmother had an RCA television from 1952 - the video you see is backwards compatible with that old, old TV.

When you take this video and display it on a ultra-high resolution screen - you see all the limits of the video in 1950.

    It's not the TV's fault.

Just watch the HD channels and ignore the rest.  Write to the other channels and tell them (and their sponsors) that you wont watch them anymore until they provide a HD feed.
