Just pure luck or cheating death?

Question

Was it luck or was it cheating death. Last week we had a severe thunderstorm. I went to check on the cemetery to make sure everything was ok...not to mention to make sure I clsed some windows on the place there.

Anyways....as I was driving down the road there the rain was coming down so hard and fast that you couldn't see 2 feet in front of where you were driving...all of a sudden the truck began to jump up and down and swerve...at 1st i thought it was the wind which was blowing at least 100mph was pushing me around....then I saw a power pole fall in front of me I swerved to miss it but the right side went over it..as I was gaining control I saw another fall..this time i was able to swerve arond it and miss it..but the live wires were flying arond and hit the truck....after reaching my destination I didn't realize a power pole hat hit the truck shell and smashed it in....people who saw the damage say I was lucky others said I cheated death...for me...It's luck.

why did you go to check on a cemetery in the midle of a storm??? you should be more concerned about yourself and your family members!!!!

I think that you were very lucky not to die, but why are you thinking that it is some sort of competition between you and death?

Indeed why are you attributing human characteristics to something like death?

Its not like death is a person and it has a job to do?

I think you cheated death because in that one instant you happen to be lucky, then. Maybe if it happens again, your number is up. We just don't know but it's nice to believe in luck or someone looking after us but just think if it had been one second before or after or if you'd never gone in the first place none of it would have happened to you. Maybe you were meant to go and learn a lesson. You think maybe? Could be.

Cheating death.  Even if that's not what it was...hold it as that in your heart.  What a great accomplishment!
