Just read something about the iud?

hey everyone, i was just reading a question on the IUD, I ve had one for just over a year and didn't know alot of what people where saying. does it really abort the baby? all i have ever read was good things about it that's why i got it. can someone give me more info on it? i have had alot of problems with my period since i got and was told it is normal and not to worry about it. like last month i missed my period by 2 weeks then got it on the 7 th of this month finished it on the 11 and started it yesterday again. is that because of the IUD? sorry guys but that kinda worries me now.

The IUD works not by preventing fertilization, but by preventing implantation.  So if you conceived on that cycle, yes it would cause that new life to be lost.

I would call your clinic to ask all your questions. I do all the time, whenever I'm curious about something.

But I have read how the IUD will prevent the baby from implanting to the unterus. This is where Tubal pregnancies are more likely. Still rare, but can be life-threatening. Miscarraiges happen, but I think a clinic can best serve your needs. Even to a pregnancy test
