Just realised my partner and I are not enrolled to vote?

And the state election is on saturday! Can they fix it by then if I call the electoral comission? How much is the fine if we don't vote?

  1. I don't think there's a fine for not voting. lol. What state are you in?


  2. Are you sure you're not? I think it's the same enrolment for federal and state elections so if you voted in the federal election last year then you might still be enrolled for the state election? Or is it because you changed your address?

    Enrolment has closed, and you can be fined for not voting (not sure how much), though I think they only fine if you are on the electoral roll and then don't turn up. If you are not on the roll, they might not find out.

    I suggest you call and find out what they say.

  4. There is no fine for not voting.  You didn't mention which state you are in so we cannot say for sure.  I suspect that it is a primary election anyway.  

    I would register and at least you can vote in the federal election in November.
