Just received my tascam DP02..manual

just received my tascam DP02..manual says "how to play demo"..did so ,no problem..next page..Navigtion..says press TRACK EDIT key...the track edit menu will appear...the track edit menu doesn't appear...the home screen appears and a "song protected" flashes on...i.e. i can't get the track edit menu up?? help?
