Got it home, store is now closed. I haven't got a clue how this works! There is a scotch brite pad that has to be used...Where? I can't see that it hooks to the bottom anywhere. Says it has to be next to the metal plate....on top or bottom??? The sanding paper is the sticky kind. I am stumped!!! Has anyone used one of these?

Thanks!

  1. Brand name and model please?

  2. And you honestly think you can -sand- a floor when you haven't a clue how to even put the paper on.

Cut your losses, save the rest of the day, and call a professional hardwood floor refinishing company.^

  3. I've sanded floors professionaly for the last 10 years and i know that the square rental sanders  tend to get little results. Usually the scotch brite pad is kept in place by the weight of the machine and the sand paper goes under the scotch brite pad. The paper sold with those rentals tends to dull quickly and i have heard people say they spend more on the paper than on the machine when its all said and done. If you are sanding old finish (older than 30 years) it's gonna be tough stuff. And those square machines are not gonna get out gouges or deep scratches or stains. Only heavy duty belt or drum sanders will do that. Good luck and wear a mask and hang plastic or old bed sheets on the doorways to contain the dust to the rooms you're working in.
