Just saw Ali vs. Wepner, is that the worse beating Ali ever gave somebody?

I'm too young to remember any of Ali's fights.. .only what I see on re-broadcasts...

I know this wasn't one of Ali's best performances... because he got knocked down & all... BUT, after that he absoultely PUNISHED this man!!! Was there any other fight where he did anything like this to an opponent.

ali-wepner is where apollo creed-rocky balboa got its movie. everone made a big deal about wepner lasting 15 rounds with ali, but you have to say that ali was getting old, and in his prime, i'd say ali in 2 rounds. wepner was never good. if they were both in their prime, wepner would get literally killed

Wepner was bartender or something, and only a part- time club fighter. Ali should have never fought him. Ali should have been able KO him in about 3 rounds. Wepner's inspired performance gave Stallone the idea to write 'Rocky'.

Watch the fight against Ernie Terell if you want to see a one sided beating, Ali could of finished him whenever he wanted but punished him for the whole fight just because he wouldnt call him Ali and kept calling him Clay.

He also give Cleveland Williams a beating in what a lot of people say was Alis best performance in a ring.

Ali beating Patterson the first time.  Patterson had a bad back going into the fight and rather than postpone Patterson went ahead with the fight.  Ali teed off on him the whole fight.  Patterson was a sitting duck.  Ali round after round hit Patterson.  Ali carried him for 12 rounds until they finally stopped it.  That was punishment.

FRANK D hit the nail on the head with his answer on this one and thumbs up to him.  Ali punished Terrell who refused to call him by his Muslim name for the entire 15 rounds.  Ali was perhaps at his very best the fight against Cleveland Williams.  If he ever had a perfect fight, it was that one.

Ali beat a lot of people down there was this guy named Ernie Terrell he would not call Ali by his new name he kept calling Ali Cassis Clay every time Ali would punch him he would ask him what,s my name about the 8 round you could hear Ali SAY WHAT,S MY NAME AND YOU COULD HEAR Ernie say Muhammad Ali. In November, 65, Ali wasn't too nice to Patterson, for calling him Clay. Same treatment to Chuvalo and Terrell.Whether it was he couldn't or wouldn't knock these guys out,

                                  he beat them up pretty good. I don't believe it bothered Chuvalo.
