  1. All you need is a map of the planet, or a globe.  All of those circels/arcs are very important and are found on world maps.

As for capricorn and cancer, just think about how the earth revolves around the sun, and that the earth's axis is on a 23.5* tilt.

  2. The Tropical Circles:

    * Tropic of Capricorn:  approximately 23°26' South latitude

    * Tropic of Cancer:  approximately 23°26' North latitude

Places along the Tropic of Capricorn:  French Polynesia, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Mozambique, Madagascar, Australia, New Caledonia.

Places along the Tropic of Cancer:  Hawaii, Mexico, Bahamas, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, China, Taiwan.

    The Polar Circles:

    * Arctic Circle:  approximately 66°33' North latitude

    * Antarctic Circle:  approximately 66°33' South latitude

Places along the Arctic Circle:  Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia.

Places along the Antarctic Circle:  Antarctica.

    The Equator:  exactly 0° latitude

Places along the Equator:  Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, Maldives, Indonesia, Nauru, Kiribati.

The Prime Meridian:  exactly 0° longitude

Places along the Prime Meridian:  Antarctica, Ghana, Togo, Burkina Faso, Mali, Algeria, Spain, France, United Kingdom.

The International Date Line:  The international date line is not a straight line.  However, for much of its length it is at 180° longitude, although it deviates east of this near New Zealand, Kiribati, and Siberia, and west of this near the Aleutian Islands of Alaska.

Places along the International Date Line:  The International Date line is designed to AVOID places, so it really only passes through Antarctica.  But, it passes NEAR to:  New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa, Kiribati, Alaska, and Russia.

There is no "Atlantic Circle".  What you're thinking of is the Antarctic Circle.

Since Earth is approximately a sphere (not a perfect one, though) no matter which way you look at it, you're basically looking at a circle.  There are 360° in a circle.  So, there are 360° of longitude (180° west and 180° east).  There are 180° of latitude (90° north and 90° south), but if you go around the Earth over the poles, you cross each one twice bringing you back to that magic 360° number.

  3. Sounds like a school/homework question...

this is seriously something where you can open up a geography book and find out.

You will Never learn by asking people for the Answers...research yourself so you can better understand!!!

  4. ↓Latitudes

Arctic Circle is 66° North of the Equator.

Tropic of Cancer is 23° North of the Equator.

    Equator is 0° latitude.

Tropic of Capricorn is 23° South of the Equator.

Antarctic Circle is 66° South of the Equator.

    ↓Longitudes

    Prime Meridian is 0° longitude.

    International Dateline is 180° longitude.

There are 360° around the entire earth.  The ancient Sumerians decided on 360 and we have been using that number ever since.
