Just something I was wondering?

So we all know cribs have one major issue... that being that legs and arms get caught in the crib rails... so my question is have they tried to design any other crib that doesn't have rails? Why dont they make a crib that had sides like a pack n play? Air still flows through them you just wouldn't have to deal with a screaming child when they get caught in the rails... do they make these or am I just way out of the times? Or could it be everyone has overlooked something simple?

  1. Your question gave me an idea for an invention, but alas- it has been invented!

It's a good idea!  I'm thinking one of these is way out of my price range, though!

  2. Ya, not sure why they make them that way.  I do know they now make breathable bumpers.  They are mesh like the pack and play sides.  You could always get one of those...

  3. Re:  "you just wouldn't have to deal with a screaming child when they get caught in the rails..."

    Heart warming.  No, really.

  4. I've seen cribs in daycares that have that unbreakable plastic stuff on the sides instead of rails.

EDIT:  The plastic was clear, so they can see out.

  5. You know what this is a good question.I never had a baby get stuck but I was paranoid it would happen each time.I have to look in the mesh bumpers.

  6. I wonder how that would affect a child psychologically. Not being able to see anything but what is above, completely enclosed on all sides but up.... that just does not seem to healthy to me.
