Nearly 3 years ago I took fluoxetine for about 3 months after suffering from severe depression. I managed to get out of it pretty quickly, thankfully. But i've had to start taking it again, and this is my 2nd pill... it seems to be working already! Could this be because i've had it before?

  1. No, I really can't believe that. I do think that taking medication can already help if you believe it does (placebo effect.) This effect has been found to be quite high by many researches.

I'm sure it is unlikely to have anything to do with the fact that you have already taken it a long time ago. However, if it has already been 48 hours you may already notice changes in your body. This feeling you may already associate with something 'working'.

Evt. if you continue taking the medication I'm sure it will benefit you.

    Good luck with everything

  2. Don't trust anti depressents  1. they will make you suicidal 2. the placebo effect which you are probably having only last so long
