Just stuck my plasterboard?

Just stuck the plasterboard on my wall - it looks like it'll stick, but it was spread a bit thinly at the bottom. Do you think it'll be ok to try and fill in under the board as best I can when it dries?

  1. Yes.

  2. you could try and squirt some no more nails or gripfill up the back.Dont try and nail the skirtings on to it,use gripfill.

  3. Best you put a nail or two in that, plasterboard is designed to be either screwed or nailed then plastered over.

  4. You should have drilled the wall first and screwed wooden battens on. Then you should have nailed plasterboard onto the battens with plasterboard nails. Now you've done it by your method I hope you have the correct side of the plasterboard facing into the room. Only one side is suitable for plastering etc.

  5. Short masonry nails.   BUY SOME.

  6. don't know how you spread it a bit thinly at bottom...these are meant to be dabs of the adhesive ...on a 6 by3 board you should have about 18 dabs ..let yours go off till tomorrow ...don't pull them about ..at the least the skirting's will hold the on the bottom

  7. Hi, yes it will be fine, we had a similar thing happen when we plaster boarded out our new extension.

After the adhesive had gone off we bunged more up the bottom, and it went off and holds it really securely.

Then when you finish off with your skirting it will be solid.

Did you use the dry wall sheets which have the sloped sides? They are great! no need to skim the whole wall, just do the joints!
