  1. Oh yes it sure does. Weight is minimized when up to speed on a flat road. But, going up hill, down hill accelerating and slowing down are all greatly affected.

    Now the difference between a 17 lb or 20 lb road bike is minimal unless your going up hill all day long. Rotating weight, most importantly your wheels is significant though.

    Many people get cought up in super light bikes me included. But I'll be the 1st to say it isn't as important as some may think.
