Just to clarify, you get/choose the bonuses at MEPS.?

I want to go in at a higher rank and I was just wondering if you talk about bonuses at MEPS when they put your contract together.

Okay here is the thing about bonuses it all depends on the Job you signed up for.  Getting a higher rank has nothing to do with it.  Sure talk to them, ask them what Jobs have what bonuses they should tell you. But here is the thing about bonuses most jobs that will put you in harm's way tend to get the higher bonuses, an example is someone doing explosive ordinance disposal (EOD) will always get a higher bonus.  Also you could get a bonus for enlisting for a longer period.

nope.  IF you qualify for one, it will be presented to you.  some MOSs come with bonuses.  some bonuses are tied to college credits.  there is no negotiating..you either qualify for advanced paygrade or a binus, or you don't.  

but here's where it gets funky:  say today you go to MEPS and 68W is offering a 10K bonus, but you decide to think on it for a day or two before committing.   you come back next Monday ready to sign..and guess what.. 68W no longer comes with a bonus.    so no 10 Grand for you.
