  1. I'm very lucky b/c my son (he's 3 1/2) has always  been a really good eater. I make sure he has healthy options to choose from and the occasional french fries or whatever. i try not to keep junk food in the house. i take him to get ice cream or cookies as a treat. he eats cheese and crackers, green beans and broccoli, cauliflower and loves tomatoes and cucumbers. He eats chicken and steak from the grill. I do get him chicken nuggets- but they are the Morning Star brand which are much lower in fat and calories. He basically eats what my hubby and I are eating. I do give him choices though so he feels like he has a say in it. I'll ask him if he wants chicken or steak for example. I know if the kid is picky or doesn't eat much- give a choice of 2 things and a number of bites they need to reach. kids eat when hungry. good luck.

  2. my kids really haven't had the chance to be picky eaters. I'm not a short order cook, so they eat what i make. They tell me they don't like it. I tell them they have to try atleast one bite. Seriously, they end up liking it and want it next time. My daughter isn't a huge meat eater, but she has to try atleast 1 bite. It's good for them and shows them that even though it looks yucky, it really isn't.

  3. Mine is supper picky!  The only things he eats are...

Spaghetti or any thing Italian we tell him is spaghetti

    Grilled Cheese

    Fish Sticks (baked not fried)

    Chicken Fingers

    Ham or Turkey lunch meat

    yogurt

    Any fruit

    waffles or pancakes

    bacon

    grits

    loves cherry tomatoes

    PB & J

of course French Fries, Chips and Pizza

    Nuts

And that is about it.  He refuses to eat any thing new or different.  I use to stress over it.  I guess you could say I have given up, at dinner I give him what I know he will eat but I still put on his plate what we are eating and try to get him to taste it.  If he does'nt I dont worry about it.  There are bigger battles, like potty training!
