Just upgraded my internet why is it slower!?!?!?!?

I just upgraded my internet from a stupidly slow 2MB to a more acceptable 10MB. But when i try and download from rapidshare the downloads are only going about 50kbps before i upgraded they were running at 200-250kbps. Anyone have any ideas? Help would be much appreciated :)

It's nothing to do with your pc.  Rapidshare had a new upgrade early July.

Free users now no longer have to wait between downloads, but the speed is a lot slower  http://rapidshare.com/news.html

"... limited the maximum download speed for free‐users to 500 kilobit per second. To compensate for that, they do not have to wait anymore until starting a succeeding download"

So that is why it is slower for you!

So it's either buy the premium account or let it run continually on a slower basis

bad router and or cpu

First of all check if your router can handle the speed

second if you are using wireless you won't be able to get that much speed

Third try this, go unplug all the wires including the routers wire for the electricity then plug it in after waiting for about 20 seconds.

IF that doesn't work go talk to the internet provider
