  1. It's hopeless for now, unless you have a few million dollars set aside and future backing and some extraordinary contacts that are as powerful as those in the oil industry, you are in the same boat as the rest of us idiots. They provide us what oil and fuel and energy sources we need and they are in control.

Start a movement or something. Everybody's waiting for some leadership.

Meanwhile, if you want green fuel, go buy some food coloring. It'll save you a lot of time and money and worry and trouble.

  2. Whole ears of corn.

  3. well definitely not water because Evian water is about $14.00 a gallon (this has been proven) plus Evian backwards is Naive...

I would say there really isn't a "green" fuel. But if someone is truly an environmentalist, they shouldn't even use a car because it pollutes the environment and such.

I am not environmentalist by the way.

  4. In one sense, the best fuel to use is hydrogen since the exhaust contains only water.

The problem is that hydrogen requires a great deal of energy/electricity to produce and the electricity is mainly generated by burning fossil fuels.

  5. There is an electric car that uses solar panels and dynamos on the axles to generate more than enough power.

can't remember if its got  a hybrid engine or not

  6. www.greasecar.com

    www.deepfriedrides.com

Yesterday, I went to a bike shop looking for a recumbent tricycle. I rode a couple around a parking lot. I was amazed at how little effort it took to propel myself and the bike. Plus it was so much fun. I gave them a deposit and am waiting for them to get in the one that fits me just right. Check it out.

  7. vegetable oil.  You can get it from fast food restaurants where they would normally just throw it out.  Must have a modified diesel engine though.

  8. I heard corn can be fuel too..

  9. There is no fuel that can really be called 'green'. They all pollute in a big way. Biofuels from corn use huge amounts of oil based energy to produce it as well as loadsa water.

The best green fuel are your legs..... try a bike.

Not fit enough?... try a bus

  10. Unless you have a hybrid, electric car, diesel, or flex fuel vehicle, you are stuck with gasoline. e85 shows promise for the immediate future if it can be made from something other than a food source and is sold by someone other that the greedy oil companies.

The best that I can think of for today is an electric car that is recharged by your own wind powered generator.

  11. The idea of "green" is to minimize your impact.  So, how to best minimize your impact depends on where you live/commute.  If you live in a large, dense city, and ethanol-blended fuel minimize health impacts generated by poor combustion.  This is especially true for a lot of "start/stop" traffic.  If you do a lot of constant speed driving, bio-diesel is a great option.

In the end, the best fuel will be solar power-derived hydrogen fuel.  There is great potential for the stepping stone of fungus/enzyme-derived ethanol from fast-growing, low nutrient-demand biomass including switch grass.  That will be several years away though.
