My personal work experience is that 99% of the time your boss can and will ask you for things that they don't intend to pay you for. Most times you do it out of the hope that you will be promoted. Doesn't that come off something like "I dont get paid for that"?

  1. "above my pay grade"

    It mean:

    "I don't know.

My staff did not give me an answer.

    Where is a teleprompter? "

  2. It means, he's not GOD, and he cant judge any WOMAN's right to choose.  As a Chrisitian man, he can't judge any WOMAN who chooses.

WHAT??  It doesnt contradict his message of hope. You have to read his entire quote and not just a piece of it.

    Sigh...

  3. He meant it wasn't his call, it was a question about the human rights being invested in a fetus.  Since there is no real agreement about when a fetus or an embryo becomes fully human in religion (they differ, some not until as late as forty days after birth) , and science isn't concerned about what is essentially a human construct, there is no way Obama could have honestly answered that.

McCain did, he said from conception.  Which would mean that he is also against the Pill, and will support only barrier methods of birth control.  Once that sperm, meets that egg, its more important that the woman.

He is looking for the fundamentalist Christian vote.

Obama was being as honest as he could be.

  4. your boss would like to pay you in line with his thinking.

    ie~you are over paid

  5. Sounds like military talk to me

  6. EXACTLY!!!

On the one hand, you claim to be willing to take on one of the most important high responsibility jobs on earth, with the power to affect the lives of millions of people... and yet you shrug at a simple question and make it seem like you won't accept any responsibility for answering it definitively.

Yes, Obama's entire campaign has been a contradiction.

    Dems made a big mistake.

They took their true rising star, Hillary Clinton, and destroyed her, falling hook, line, and sinker for the manipulations of the right.  And instead, they went with an unelectable self-proclaimed messiah.

It's going to be another landslide... by John McCain, of all people!

Well, at least Democrats will take some joy in knowing how much McCain grates on the right's nerves.  In many ways, he's a moderate Democrat himself.

But the Hillary era is definitely over.  Unless she pulls a miracle coup this week, this was her chance... and Democrats blew it.

  7. It means that he isn't qualified to make a determination when life begins.  He's a politician, not a doctor or biologist.  "Above my pay grade" means he'll leave it to the experts to make that call.

  8. I've been in the Army for a while and I hear this all the time. All it means is that you aren't "privy" to do or know whatever it is they speak or ask of. My civilian job is the same way, the way I deal with it is I only do what is asked and no-more cuz honestly it really gets you know where. That's my experience anyway.
