Just wondering, in Economics how does one interpret slopes?

I don't really get it.. do we interpret it as in it should be positive or negative? Anyone have any idea, my teacher was asking us and I didn't know. And why?

  1. If a line is going down from left to right, the slope is negative. if it goes up from left to right then its posotive. Negative relationships in a price quantity graph reflect the law of demand.


  2. If it is going up prices are going high, if it is going down the prices are starting to go down and become lower.

    If the slope is straight that means its currently the same and nothing has changed.
