Just wondering how to get my fondant bow to stand up?

  1. drape your bow around something the correct size until it is dry enough to stand on its own. You can use the toothpick as the other person said for placing the bow on the cake and having it stay where you want it. There are special picks made for doing this, but the cost is really not worth it.

    Most professional decorators use regular toothpicks to do these things or they use florist wire. Run the wire through boiling water to make sure it is sanitized.


  2. Stuff it w/ some crumpled up parchment paper until it dries adn can stand on it's own.

  3. use a toothpick and insert into the thickest part of the bow on the bottom, leaving a little more than half of the toothpick sticking out.  then, insert exposed part of toothpick into the cake.  make sure you know exactly where you want this bow to sit on the cake, because you don't want to have a bunch of small holes in the fondant from trying to find the spot for the decoration.
