  1. I was at the south end beach Sheraton, I think-- wonderful

  2. The best (fanciest) hotels are the Elbow beach, Southampton & Hamilton Princesses by Fairmont. I prefer the smaller B&B or cottage type accommodations like Arieal Sands and 9 Beaches.

There are loads of nice places to stay in Bermuda, lots are beach cottage communities (Elbow Beach, Ariel Sands, Pink Beach Club & 9 Beaches are just a few), some are lovely and quaint B&B's (Aunt Neas), The Fairmont Hamilton Princess, is THE posh hotel in Hamilton (City). Fairmont Southampton Princess posh (Rural). The Grotto Bay Beach Club has a mixture of the two's feel. I have stayed at Grotto and Aunt Neas, and liked them both (free wifi @ Aunte Neas).

With The trip Advisor you can read peoples reviews but keep in mind people are more likely to give reports when things are unsatisfactory.

  3. Wow, there are just so many answers to this question. A lot depends on how much you want to spend per night, where you would like to be located (downtown Hamilton versus along the south beaches) and, of course, your own personality.

For instance, Waterloo House on Hamilton Harbour is very nice, close to downtown and quaint. Serving afternoon tea, exquisite service. But it's small, not a resort. A few doors away is Hamilton Princess, which is a full service resort just steps from downtown. Also, it has a ferry to the Fairmount Southampoton Princess along the south shore beach.

For the Bed and Breakfast types, can't go wrong with Aunt Nea's in St. George's. 9 Bridges is a wonderful place with cottages on the water. Elbow Beach Club, Sonesta, Coral Reef can be pricy but very nice. Grotto Bay is a step below, but also offers value for your money.

So there is something for everyone. Take a look at the web sites like Bermuda.com, Bermudasecrets.com, etc. for more information.

  4. I recommend the place I stayed it 8 years ago. It's called the Sonesta. I don't know what current rates are, but when I stayed there the rate was $75 a night. That's cheap for Bermuda. The Sonesta has a good restaurant, an indoor pool, friendly staff, pleasant rooms, and nice views of the ocean. It's located on the southwestern shore of the island.
