Just wondering if anyone knows of any reaction time drills for boxing? specifically defensive evasion drills!?

  1. Do you have a maize bag at you gym? That bag is used to help your reaction time, to practice slipping and head movement.

    Also use the double end bag, stand too close so when you lay into it, it will bounce back and you need to keep your head moving.

    It's very embarrassing to get hit by the bag. ;)


  2. you should have someone show you what these look like. practice slipping strait punches with a v-slip and a u-slip. start of with them punching slowly then speed up. you can add combinations after the slip also.

    a counter punch is not easy to do but you can practice this also. when someone throws a jab immediately throw a cross. this is best practiced in sparing.
