i was just wondering i went to target and bought $34.67 worth of stuff and then the tax was $2.94 so the total was 37.61 but then on the tax it say 7.7500 onn 37.92 so i dont understand cuz the total was 37.61 not 37.92 any one now anything about this? also usually how much tax is charged does it depend on how much something is? so if its like 18.99 what would be the tax on just that? just curious never learned this in math class they should have thought us this lol maybe they did i wasnt paying attention lol well any ideas thanks!

  1. You may want to go to Target and ask their version.  My best guess is there was an instant rebate for something you bought and so if there was a rebate, the calilfornia sales tax would be based on your total before the rebate.

The store could answer your question and maybe even give you some money back!!

    Good luck
