Being overweight may be bad for your health but so is smoking.

However that said, obese people are in great risk of countless diseases and illnesses, and require greater assistance. Its the same as if you had some disease, it bumps up the payments.

More care = more money

Unfortunate, but did you also read that obesity is now classed as a disability?

No.  But they should pay more for health insurance.  Just as a pack a day smoker pays more for health insurance, obesity and the problems that go with it lead to more expensive health care.
