Justin Duchscherer probable contract offer from Baltimore Orioles
The days just haven’t ended for Justin Duchscherer, spelling a good season ahead for the pitcher as there are rumours creeping up that talk of the player being given contract offers by the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Nationals. The Orioles, in particular,
have been active around the player for quite a while. Justin recently made the trip to Baltimore, Maryland, to offer an exhibition on his throwing capabilities.
The Orioles, who have been scrapping for quality players in the winter break, are trying to end the off season period on a positive note. Their indulgence in bagging Justin marks nothing more than a strategy to strengthen the roster and the rotation, simultaneously.
Duchscherer, who’s 33, is looking for a long return to the game in the East Coast as his son lives in New Jersey. The probability of playing near New Jersey ranks is highly on the list of his clubs.
Duchscherer was an interesting addition to the Oakland Athletics’ squad last year. The unfortunate events that led to his ouster from the club pertain to the hip injury he sustained over the 12 games he started for the club. Justin is looking for a way back
to the games and in defiance of his goal, there is nothing stopping him from returning to the Major Leagues.
The player has officially laid no word on which team he will play for in the coming days but it looks like that the O’s are majorly in pursuit. President for Baseball Operations in Baltimore, Andy MacPhail was asked on Justin’s role in the O’s line up.
"We have seen, this year, three or four guys throwing in side sessions like we saw Justin throw the other day," MacPhail said. "We've been pleased with what we have seen, but you can only learn so much in those kinds of climates."
While talking to the media last week, Justin said, "Honestly, I feel like I've proven (that) when I'm healthy, I'm a very good Major League pitcher. The only thing I have to prove is (whether) I can do it over the long term."
At the moment, Justin feels right to perform and he would like to prove he’s healthy to compete in the game. The player is set to star in the major leagues and only time can predict where he will be playing.
