Justin Harrison says Brumbies will not take it easy on NSW Waratahs – Super Rugby news
The Brumbies forward coach, Justin Harrison, has vowed that his side will not let their last game be smooth sailing into the play-off stages for the Waratahs. The Brumbies are taking on the Waratahs in their last round match of the current Super Rugby championship.
The Brumbies are already out from the play-off stages with only four victories in the whole season.
The Waratahs have nothing to cheer about in their current Super Rugby season except for defeating the Australian top ladders, Queensland Reds, last weekend. They outclassed the defending champion Reds by 14-22 in their previous match.
Meanwhile, some rugby critics believe that the Brumbies will not give the a Waratahs tough time in their final game. The Waratahs, who are placed in seventh overall position at the points table, are required to win their last match to make their place in
the top six derbies of the tournament. Fortunately, the Waratahs will contest their lowly ranked fellow Australian team in their do or die match.
However, the Waratahs forward coach, Justin Harrison, denied the rumours that Brumbies will not play their best game in order to see the other Australian team into the play-off stages. He argued that Brumbies will play their natural game in order to finish
the campaign in an ideal way.
He further said that, “The motivating factor isn't keeping the Waratahs out of the finals, the motivating factor for us is to rectify some of the losses that we've had throughout the year and the inconsistent performances. We don't ever set goals around
depriving anyone of anything.”
He added that, ''I wouldn't appreciate it if someone went easy on me and then I arrived at the Test arena having not had to perform in crucial matches. So I think we're actually doing teams favours by exposing them and making sure that they are in positions
to close out games.''
The Super Rugby season is winding down as the final round kicks off on June 17. Six of the top teams will qualify for the next stages, whereas nine teams will be excluded in the championship on the sunset of June 18.
