  1. i think she will make a comeback once she has come to her senses.  she is just too loaded these past days from so many family and physical concerns. you're right, its a shock. its like hearing murray winning a slam or federer winning at RG. the #1 will be maria. JH knew this day is coming so she just not want to prolong the agony. good for maria.

  2. Yup. Well women's tennis will continue as normal. I hope the top players become consistent, that's how Justine was, that's why she remained in the #1 position, playing high level tennis consistently. Sharapova gets #1 by default, but she had a good yr thus far. I don't expect her to keep it for too long though, Kuznetsova might take it after the French.

  3. she confirmed her retirement... i think if she will comeback maybe after 2 years... she just made the decision!

  4. now tennis will be rules by serena, venus and sharapova, and maybe kuznetsova. that's fuc*ed up. I love Justine, but she thought Wimbledon was to much for her.

  5. i hope she makes comeback

  6. Justine is the best player on the tour by some way when she's at her best but I'd almost prefer to see her retire than to continue losing the way she was this year. There's been something missing in her game this year, for her to lose 6-4 6-0(to Sharapova in Australia), 6-2 6-0(to Serena in Miami) and to lose to players like Schiavone and Safina(good players in there own right but they'd never troubled Henin in previous meetings). Her love for the game and will to win are what made her the formidable champion she was and if she feels that feeling starting to fade she's better off going out while she's on top(no other player has). She is a brilliant champion and will always be remembered for that and at the age of 25 there's always the chance that she could comeback if the desire to win comes back. As for the other part of your question I think it's only a matter of time before Serena is back on top with Sharapova No2 and when Serena retires Sharapova will dominate.

  7. I know its a shock!

  8. That's would make Sharapova number 1 again ??? WIll miss Justin dearly....

  9. She may come back but I have the feeling that she is pregnant

  10. Whatever, she's weak.  She couldn't stand the heat because she has no heart.  Good riddance to her.  May she rest in pieces.

  11. it's truly a huge blow. as said, there has not been anybody as consistent in winning titles, slams as justine henin the last couple years. which is why she is still a considerable margin ahead of everybody in rank points. i dunno,i really believe we will see different winners now. i can't say that i am completely sad about that aspect because perhaps now this gives the other players a bit more of a chance, not to mention the confidence,to win. i am really rooting for sveta to win RG now!
