Justin Langer reveals he contested for Australia's head coach job - Cricket News Update

Langer, who was appointed as the batting coach of Australia in 2009, told media reporters that he had put forward his name for the head coach position adding that he would love to take the position if offered.
"It was a good process. I just thought that somewhere down the track I'd like to, well, coach Australia of course," Langer said while talking to the media reporters on the opening day of the first Test between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 which started in Melbourne

Langer, the 41-year-old former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 batsman was not disappointed for being turned down for the prestigious position adding that he does not bear relevant experience for the position.
"It was maybe a little premature with my lack of experience,” said the former Rajasthan Royals mentor adding, “but I've really enjoyed my years here and I'm gaining great experience in what I'm doing now."
Langer debuted for Australia in January 1993 with a Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 at Adelaide Oval and went on to represent the Kangaroos in 105 Tests before bidding farewell to international cricket in 2007.
After retirement from international cricket he played in the domestic circuits of Australia and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals, to play for the inaugural edition of the lucrative league for US$236,850,
but he turned down the offer to honour a prior commitment with English County side http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Somerset-c843.
Langer has been coaching the Aussies since 2009, soon after his retirement from first-class cricket.
