Justin Morgan concludes term with Hull KR with a loss to Dragons – Rugby League
The departing coach of Hull Kingston Rovers, Justin Morgan, has said that he found it tough to leave Hull KR with an embarrassing defeat of 56-6 against the Catalan Dragons on Sunday, September 18, at the Headingley.
While speaking about Rovers’ performance after the match, Morgan stated, “It's tough to go out like that, and no one wants to finish like that. There are a lot of blokes in there who have got empty feelings and it will make the journey home a lot longer,
but we'll give it a few days, then reflect on what we have achieved over the last few weeks and recent months.”
Despite the heart-wrenchingly bad performance by the Rovers, Morgan brought himself to appreciate his players for their efforts and stated, “I'm very proud of my time at Hull KR, proud of the players and proud of the position I've been able to hold within
the club. The nature of sport is that you win some and lose some. Tonight we've lost one, but it is a small part of what has gone before.”
He mentioned further that the club will go a long way and those who played their last game will also get bigger and better. He took also took the opportunity to praise what his squad had recently achieved.
The Hull KR coacj also explained the reasons behind his squads play-off defeat by stating that during the earlier spell of the clash, the Rovers had lost their discipline, which cost them heavily in the later part of the match-up. Pointing out his outfit’s
shortfalls during Sunday night’s clash, Robinson said that his team had lost control of the ball during the initial minutes of the clash.
It would have pleased Morgan a lot more, if the outgoing he could have left on a higher note.
On the other hand, Catalan Dragon’s coach, Trent Robinson, was pleased with his team’s massive win Sunday night. The Dragon’s coach mentioned that he took his team in the clash and was in an entirely different state of mind because he was aware of the full
potential of the Rovers and the danger they present to any side.
So far, this has been called the best performance of the season by the Catalans, which has helped wipe out the Rovers from the Super League play-offs. Catalans took the lead in the second minute of the battle which wound up in a massive defeat for beleaguered
Rovers.
The highlight of the fixture was a hat-trick of tries from Damien Blanch, along with a couple coming in from Steve Menzies. Contributions to the score board were also made from Daryl Millard, Sebastien Raguin, Eloi Pelissier, Cyril Stacul and Clint Greenshields.
