Justin Pipe eyes maintaining PDC Crown for the year
With the intent of maintaining his position in the top 16 of darts' best, Justin Pipe has also expressed the desire of grabbing hold of the PDC Crown for the year 2012 on his agenda.
Known as ‘the Force’ in the mainstream of darts, Pipe was able to secure a respectable position for himself after he was able to clinch the 21st place.
Since his reach to the 21st spot, Pipe has been trying his level best to surge his ranking and for this, he is steadily improving his performance with every passing championship.
Beginning his 2012 season by making an appearance at the Pro Tour defence, Pipe was able to begin his voyage victoriously at Benidorm.
Interestingly, it was the journey of the champion that came to end with the superb performance delivered by Justin.
In addition to this Pipe’s remarkable improvement in terms of performance can further be vindicated from the place he was able to secure for himself at the UK Open Qualifier event that took place at Bolton.
He was able to make way into the fourth round of the tournament, but had to face departure after losing his matches against Newton and Gerwen, respectively.
According to experts and pundits, the kind of performance Pipe intends to be delivering and the steady improvement, he is consistently introducing his game, he will be able to make his place among the best of darts very soon.
Pipe said, “We all have to set goals and one of mine is obviously to do better than I did last year. My own personal goal is to make the world’s top 16 and to retain my number one status on the floor that is what I really want to do”.
He continued, “To walk into the world’s biggest darts competition on that day knowing that you are number one seed, looking around and seeing Phil Taylor, Gary Anderson, James Wade and Adrian Lewis make you feel very good”.
He further added that his main victory in the Pro-Tour came after defeating Phil Taylor.
Even though it was not in the form of any monetary reward, a simple pat on his back was the only reward he could have anticipated from a legendary player like Taylor.
Undoubtedly, in times to come Pipe will be a player who will easily pose a threat to champions in maintaining their winning streak.
