Justin Pipe focused on becoming the best at PDC, rivalries will not get you anywhere Pipe!
Justin Pipe is eyeing the UK Open in order to mark his comeback at the game of darts and reviving his career by embarrassing his arch-rival Kevin Painter.
Pipe has been out of touch recently with his early exits from numerous important tournaments. The McCoy’s Premier League saw Pipe exiting the best Premier League of all time owing to his poor form.
Times have changed in the world of darts. Young blood has been a dominant force, as it was seen in the McCoy’s Premier League Darts finale.
The world never thought of Simon Whitlock being in the finale against the legendary Phil Taylor. It was thought that names like Adrian Lewis, James Wade or Andy Hamilton would be in the finals.
The world also saw Simon Whitlock, a young Australian beating the lights out of the former World number one Adrian Lewis which, till date, remains the biggest upset of the year.
Whitlock’s passion and ignited blood took over Adrian Lewis’ experience.
Pipe is one of those players who have been saying a little too much, yet, have been underperforming for a long time now.
Last year, Pipe lost to a qualifier which remains the most shocking aspect of his entire career. He hopes that history does not repeat itself this year, as this year’s win has become a compulsion for Pipe.
“I lost to a qualifier last year when I was 7-2 up and I should have won. He went on to beat Steve Beaton and Dave Chisnall. You are always wary of the qualifiers coming from the background. When you are playing the big names you know that they are about
so I would rather play those sorts of players instead of someone you do not know,” said Pipe regarding last year’s shocker.
The UK Open has seen the great Ted Hankey making an early exit, following a very disappointing performance in his final round against Mervyn King.
Pipe should keep precision and focus as his key tools for glory. If he sticks to these factors, he may head towards the success he truly dreams of. For now, Pipe should focus on winning rather than his rivalries.
