Justin Rose aims a major title following his WGC win at the Cadillac Championship – Golf News
Justin Rose, who registered his first World Golf Championship through a win in the Cadillac Championship on Sunday, March 11, 2012, is now seeking to win his first major of the career this year.
Rose carded a total of four birdies against two bogeys to finish two-under par 70 in the final round.
It was enough to outclass Bubba Watson, the overnight leader, who faltered in the final round and scored a two-over par 74 to finish one stroke behind Rose.
According to Rose, he played very well throughout the tournament and the major factor behind his victory was his consistency in each and every round that he played.
Rose believes that he is getting better and better with the passage of time.
Moreover, he gave the credit of his improved performance over the past few months to Mark Fulcher, Sean Foley and Gio Valiante who work as his caddie, swing coach and psychologist respectively.
"I have a great team around me. It’s been an evolution and a team of people who have all worked really hard to help me," he said.
He added by saying that he now needs to focus on the major events as he has won on the PGA Tour, European Tour and now has a WGC win as well.
Therefore, his next target is the Masters Tournament that is slated to be played next month at the prestigious Augusta National Golf Club.
"If you look at the tournaments I have won and now a World Golf Championship, the progression is really, really nice. The only thing that really is the next level up is a major," Rose said.
He continued, "But that is not to say that I'm at that stage in my career where I am only focusing on the majors. I think there is a lot more for me to do in the game to get to that point. But no doubt, I feel my game is getting ready for that".
According to the golf experts, Rose has learned how to keep a hold on to his nerves while playing the final round in any event, which has earned him some very good finishes in the end.
