Justin Timberlake to be a part of USA Ryder Cup Team
The preparations for Ryder Cup are under way and with the teams almost finalised, all is set for the 39th Ryder Cup to tee off in Medinah. However, this year there will be one addition in the USA Team.
PGA of America announced that Justin Timberlake will be a part of American team. Timberlake will be the team’s first ever Ambassador. He will be accompanying the team in the Ryder Cup gala and in the opening ceremony as well.
The 39th Ryder Cup will take place from September 25 - 30, in Illinois at Medinah Golf Club.
Justin Timberlake is a big fan and supporter of golf himself and he feels that this is a huge honour for him to be a part of the USA Ryder Cup team. The whole of the USA Team is also very excited about his presence during the tournament.
"As Captain, I am very excited to have Justin on board as an Ambassador for the U.S. team," said 2012 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Davis Love III.
"He is a true champion for our sport, and I have been very impressed with his commitment to growing golf and sharing his passion with others. He genuinely loves the game. I know golf fans are going to embrace his participation and share in his excitement
for the Ryder Cup".
Ryder Cup is a global event and Justin Timberlake’s name is taken all over the world. This will add flavour and glamour to the event itself.
Allen Wronowski, the President of PGA of America, believes that he is the perfect choice for an Ambassador, as he himself is very passionate about golf.
Timberlake was very excited and proud after he came to know that he will be a part of the USA team in the Ryder Cup. He said that it was an honour for him to represent his country at such a high profile global event.
“There is no greater stage for the sport than the Ryder Cup, and I am proud to be an Ambassador for the U.S. Ryder Cup team and take part in such a time-honoured event”.
Ryder Cup is a unique tournament, players play for pride, not money, which makes this event more interesting.
