Justin Upton sparks as Arizona Diamondbacks defeat San Diego Padres 4-3 - MLB Update

Arizona Diamondbacks’ right-fielder, Justin Upton was impressive with the bat as he went 2-for-4 with an average of .303 and had two home-runs with two RBIs in the Diamondbacks’ 4-3 victory against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park, San Diego on July 27.
During the first three innings of the game, the batters did not find any gap to play their shots and got out. In the first inning, Jason Bartlett hit a single-run shot towards right-field while Will Venable struck-out swinging, Chase Headley struck-out looking
and Ryan Ludwick grounded out to third base.
At the top of the second inning, the Diamondbacks’ batters also struggled as Chris Young flied out to left-field. Miguel Montero struck-out looking and Collin Cowgill grounded out to first base without taking any run for his team. In the third inning, Cory
Luebke grounded out to third base, Venable grounded out to the pitcher and Bartlett flied out towards right-field.
Upton hit his first home-run (428 feet) of the game in the fourth inning to give the Diamondbacks a 1-0 lead. Padres scored two runs during the fifth inning to get a 2-1 lead. Venable tripled towards deep right-field while Orlando Hudson and Luebke added
two runs jointly for the Padres.
The game was tied 2-all during the sixth inning when Upton struck his second homer (421 feet) towards left-field to raise the potential of the Diamondbacks. At the top of the seventh inning, Arizona's batters belted two runs to take a lead while the Padres
were able to score just one run to cut their deficit 4-3 at the end of the seventh inning.
Xavier Nady struck a two-run homer (327 feet) to right-field and Montero added the final run for the Diamondbacks. On the other side, Luis Martinez hit a solo homer (364 feet) towards left-field to keep alive the momentum of the Padres. In the eighth and
ninth inning, the batters got out with nothing more with the bat.
Diamondbacks’ starter, Ian Kennedy gave up only one walk with two earned runs in his six inning pitches and surrendered just two runs on four hits with an ERA of 3.22. He struck-out nine batters on his 102 pitches.
However, the Diamondbacks sealed the three-game series 2-0 after this hard fought win.
