Justin Vaughan has step down from his post as CEO of New Zealand Cricket, citing family reasons as the main concern, leading him to make such an important decision.
"It's something that I've been conscious of over the last few months, around the balance of the needs of my family and the requirements of the business," Vaughan said.

However, Vaughan believed that the time is right for him to quit, which will give the new CEO ample time to ensure that the organization of the tournament goes as planned.
His departure has come at a significant point in Kiwi cricket, where changes have been made to guarantee that the team moves forward and becomes a serious contender for the 2015 title.

consistent and performs to its full capacity over the coming years.
The change in the organizational structure is a positive move for Kiwi cricket and the outgoing CEO believes it was a difficult decision to make considering the good times ahead for the team. He also feels his biggest regret would be not to be a part of
the side’s World Cup campaign, but is adamant that he needs time to spend with his family.
"…..But I suppose in terms of future focus, building on those opportunities but also fully capitalising on the World Cup in 2015, that will be a once-in-a-lifetime event. It should be brilliant for cricket in this country in lots of ways,” he said.
Now the task for the current NZ cricket hierarchy is to appoint his successor. Snedden, whom Vaughan replaced, is touted as the front runner for the post, and with him being the current organizing head of the ongoing 2011 Rugby World CUP, he has the required
credentials to replace the outbound CEO.
