Justin Vaughan wishes to be replaced by a New Zealander – Cricket News Update

Chief Executive (CEO) of New Zealand Cricket, Justin Vaughan, who has recently announced his resignation from the post, has urged that a Kiwi national should replace him as the new CEO.

Vaughan took over the role of the CEO of New Zealand cricket back in 2007, but unfortunately his regime cannot be remembered in good words as the Black Caps faced one of their worst times in International cricket. New Zealand did not win any major cricket event,
neither did they beat any big team in a series.

On top of that, New Zealand got whitewashed by Bangladesh last year in a One Day International series, which is without doubt one of the worst defeats in Kiwi cricket history.

Vaughan wishes that his successor be a New Zealander, because he believes that only a native can do justice to the position. He further claimed that New Zealanders are talented people and they do have the ability to run an organization efficiently.

He said, “I think it should be a Kiwi. We are New Zealand Cricket, we're about representing our country. There are people from other nationalities in the organization there to drive the very best performance out of our elite area. I always feel if a New Zealander
is as good as an overseas person then it ought to be a Kiwi that does the job."

Vaughan added that he has enjoyed his role as the head of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 Cricket but feels that this is the right time to move forward in life.

"It's been a hard decision to make, but I'm certain it's the right time for me to explore new opportunities. I have loved the role and have been privileged to serve New Zealand Cricket," Vaughan added.

New Zealand Cricket has undergone other changes as well, especially after their unsuccessful World Cup 2011 campaign. Daniel Vettori stepped down from captaincy and Ross Taylor was appointed as his replacement.

The Kiwi cricket is set to start a tenure as there have been some other drastic changes as well apart from the resignation of Vaughan. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DL-Vettori-c1384 stepped down as the captain of the national team and announced that he will just be playing Test cricket for
the time being.  He has been replaced by middle order batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LRPL-Taylor-c1849.
